Hi Everyone,

I hope this note finds everyone well and you are enjoying your summer. The hockey season is approaching fast and your board of directors, coaches and volunteers are busy preparing for the upcoming season. While we concentrate on the upcoming day to day tasks involved with a long hockey season, we also focus on our mission as an organization.

Growth of our program is at the forefront of our mission. While we hear a number of reasons from parents for their kids not to play hockey, the reality is, the single biggest deterrent is economic. We know in order for us to grow, we must offer a great product at a price that is affordable to as many parents as possible. We are happy to report an increase in enrollment for the 2010-2011 season. This is particularly impressive in light of the economic times. Despite rising costs, we were able to keep our tuition rates the same as last season. However, we know the more we can lower tuition, the bigger our growth will be. Fundraising is vital to our mission.

Our biggest fundraising drive for the year is the Shake the Money Tree Raffle. The drawing is September 25, 2010. We are asking everyone to sell 10 books. If we have close to 100% participation, it will virtually guarantee a reduction in tuition for the 2011/2012 season. Take advantage of your sales. Remember you get 50% of what you sell. If your tuition is already paid, simply remit half of your sales. If you did not receive raffle tickets at the tryouts or would like additional tickets, please contact me and I will send them to you. You can now register for the 2010/2011 Learn to Skate and Learn to Play programs offered by the North Andover Youth Hockey League! These programs will start in September, 2010, but we've already had people inquiring about these great programs that will get your children skating and having fun on the ice in no time at all!

Learn to Skate
The Learn to Skate program is a 12-week program that is offered once again for only $99*! This program is great fun for the kids - you will be amazed at how quickly they are skating on their own! The next LTS session starts in mid-September and runs through December. A second session will be held from December through March (registration for this session is not yet open). The program will be held at the Brooks School Skating Rink in North Andover. Again, each 12 week session is only $99*.

Designed for children ages four and up who are first time skaters, this program teaches the fundamentals of ice skating in a fun-filled atmosphere with supervised instruction. The program focuses on skating skills, safety and fun. Previous skating experience is not required.

Learn to Play
The Learn To Play Hockey (LTP) program runs from mid-September through March and is held Saturday AND Sunday mornings at the Brooks School Skating Rink in North Andover.

The LTP program is designed for children age five and up who are already skating and are planning to join the hockey program in the coming years. The LTP program continues to develop the players skating skills, but also incorporates some of the fundamentals of hockey in a fun-filled atmosphere with supervised instruction. The program focuses on skating skills, hockey skills, safety and fun. The cost of this program is $675* (full details can be found on the 2010/2011 Tuition page)

* All Players, regardless of age, must register with USA Hockey to participate in these programs. For players born before 2004, there is a $35 fee paid to USA Hockey for this registration. The optional Automatic Deferred Payment Plan (DPP), offered at registration and during tryouts, is still available. To select this plan, download this form, fill it out completely (make sure you check the "Deferred Payment Plan" option) and mail it in to the North Andover Youth Hockey Association.
