Learn to Play Hockey
Ages
This program is designed for children ages 4 and up who are already skating and ready for the hockey experience.
We have many on-ice instructors who are USA Hockey certified to teach the fundamentals to our young players. They will be playing hockey and having fun as soon as they step on the ice!
Where
Practices are held at the Lawrence Valley Forum on Thursday's and at Brooks School in North Andover on Saturday mornings for sessions 1 and 2.
When
Learn to Play meets twice a week for 10-week sessions.
Thursday's 5:00 - 5:50 pm @ Lawrence Valley Forum and Saturday's 10:00 - 11:00 am @ Brooks School.
Jerseys
Jerseys will be provided to all players registered for this program.
2025-2026
The LTP Hockey program is designed for children age 4 and up who are already skating and are planning to play hockey in the coming years. The LTP program continues to develop players skating skills, but also incorporates the fundamentals of hockey in a fun filled atmosphere with supervised instruction. The program focuses on skating, edges, hockey skills, safety, and most important, fun!
For safety and to ensure the enjoyment of the game, please make sure each child is properly dressed to play hockey. Incidental contact along with falling on elbows and knees are common when playing hockey.
All LTP participants must have the following equipment to participate in the program:
Hockey Skates
Helmet with full cage (All helmets and masks must be HECC certified)
Elbow Pads
Shin Pads
Hockey Socks
Shoulder/Chest Protector
Hockey Gloves
Hockey Pants
Hockey Stick
A mouthguard is optional at this level
